Environmental Services Training Program

This program prepares participants to obtain certification for a career in Environmental Services.  Work readiness curriculum includes resume development, workplace professionalism, mock interviews, work ethics, basic computer skills, communications, and financial management.  Cleaning Management Institute curriculum includes instruction in Basic Custodial Skills, such as understanding Materials Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), complying with OSHA standards, proper application of cleaning chemicals, and appropriate care of various surfaces.  

Goodwill provides assistance in job searching – including access to Job Connection resources and personalized guidance from a case manager – but employment is not guaranteed.

Program Details

Day Program (9:00 am - 4:00 pm)
Work Readiness Curriculum: 30 hours
Hands On CMI Curriculum: 40 hours

Classes average 12 students and participants should meet these guidelines:

  • At Least 18 Years of Age
  • Lift Up to 50 Pounds
  • Stand for Long Durations
  • Minimal Visual and Hearing Limitations
  • Negative Drug Screen
  • Demonstrate Appropriate Math and Reading Level(s) - Test for Adult Basic Education (TABE) Assessment
  • Demonstrate English Proficiency
  • Criminal Background Check

If accepted, participants must attend orientation and successfully complete work readiness curriculum before beginning skills training.

Goodwill Industries reserves the right to make the final selection on all students due to limited space in the training program.
