GoodStart Program Helps Returning Citizens Find Employment
Goodwill is excited to announce a recent grant from the US Department of Labor to help returning citizens become employed following release from prison.
The GoodStart Reentry Program will serve at least 188 male and female returning citizens through September 2019 in the Greenville, Spartanburg, and Columbia metropolitan areas. Participants will be referred to the program through the SC Department of Corrections.
GoodStart features partnerships with the SC Department of Corrections, SC Department of Employment & Workforce, and SC Legal Services.
Services to be provided through GoodStart include industry-specific training leading to a recognized credential, work experience, job search and placement assistance, and comprehensive wrap-around services.
This program reflects Goodwill’s vision of helping all people with employment barriers become gainfully employed and independent.
