On Thursday, March 24th at 3:00 pm, Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina will hold a Groundbreaking Celebration for its planned facility at 1 Krieger Drive in Travelers Rest.  The new facility, at the intersection of Krieger Drive and Little Texas Road, will employ approximately 20 people in new, full-time positions and will include a retail store, donation center, and a Goodwill Job Connection.  It is scheduled to open late 2016.  

This location will house the sixth Goodwill Job Connection in Greenville County and the first in Travelers Rest.  Goodwill Job Connections provide free assistance to help job seekers connect with potential employers and find permanent employment.  Services include access to resources like computers and the internet, fax machines, telephones, and job leads and referrals.  A trained employment specialist is on site to assist individuals with their job search.  

In Greenville County, Goodwill also provides job training services to help people gain the skills needed to begin careers in Manufacturing, Food Service, Retail, Construction, and as Certified Nurse Aides.  

“Last year, Goodwill was able to help 10,596 people find jobs,” says Patrick Michaels, President and CEO of Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina.   “We look forward to having a convenient, accessible location for the people of Travelers Rest and expanding the employment services available in Greenville County.”  

Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina helps people become independent through education and training leading to employment.  Last year, Goodwill placed 10,596 people into employment through its job training programs and Goodwill Job Connection services.
