Aunisti Brown: A Journey to Success
December 18, 2024
Meet Aunisti Brown, an inspiring young woman whose journey proves the power of perseverance and support.
At just 18 years old, Aunisti enrolled in Goodwill’s LifeLaunch program in June 2023, referred by the Department of Juvenile Justice Job Readiness Program. Initially shy and guarded, Aunisti hesitated to engage, but with time and trust, she began to embrace the opportunities before her.
Aunisti faced many challenges during her school years, leading her parents to withdraw her from public school after 9th grade. The typical pressures of adolescence, combined with emotional and behavioral struggles, contributed to her justice involvement.
Through LifeLaunch, Aunisti enrolled in adult education programs and worked one-on-one with a tutor at Goodwill, where her intelligence and determination quickly shone through. Step by step, she regained her confidence, earning both her OSHA 10 and Forklift Certifications from Midlands Technical College.
In May, 2024, Aunisti proudly graduated with her GED from Richland School District Two Adult Education. Today, she is pursuing her dreams at Fortis College in the Medial Assistance program, a testament to her resilience and hard work.
Aunisti’s transformation has been remarkable. She radiates confidence and embraces every opportunity to grow personally and professionally. Her journey is just beginning, and we cannot wait to see all she will achieve.
