For many individuals, overcoming life’s barriers to find meaningful employment can feel like an uphill battle, and Kevin knows the struggle firsthand. With a criminal background, he faced constant rejection from potential employers. Doors that seemed wide open for others were closed for him.

Fortunately, Kevin’s story took a hopeful turn thanks to a family connection and the support of Goodwill. His uncle, who had previously benefitted from Goodwill’s services, encouraged Kevin to visit the Seneca Career and Training Center. There, Kevin enrolled in programs designed to help individuals with backgrounds like his, offering not only job search assistance but also something even more valuable: hope.

At the Seneca Goodwill, Kevin received personalized, in-person support. Career counselors connected him with background-friendly employers and guided him through the often-daunting process of completing online job applications. This hands-on assistance opened doors Kevin didn’t know existed.

Today, Kevin is proud to be employed by a company that values his potential and offers opportunities for growth. He dreams of advancing into a management role and building a career that once seemed out of reach.

Reflecting on his journey, Kevin shared, “Thank you, Goodwill, for being there for people who need a second chance.”
