Pamela's Journey to Stability

December 20, 2024

In 2002, Pamela Cloniger’s life took an unexpected turn when she was diagnosed with chronic cellulitis. The illness led to frequent hospitalizations, making it impossible for her to care for her disabled adult son. Financial struggles compounded the situation, leaving Pamela homeless. While she found shelter at Miracle Hill, her son could not stay with her, adding to her challenges.

Determined to rebuild her life, Pamela knew employment was the key. However, her disability and associated restrictions made finding a job difficult.

In April 2024, Goodwill’s Mission Mobile visited Miracle Hill, introducing Pamela to the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP). She applied immediately, hopeful for a fresh start. By May, Pamela became a SCSEP participant and began working at Goodwill’s Pleasantburg location.

Today, Pamela is thriving and deeply grateful for the opportunity Goodwill provided. Her story is a testament to the power of second chances.
