12 Days of Goodwill: Day 10

December 17, 2022

Day 10: David came to Goodwill Youth & Family Services at Phillis Wheatley Community Center looking for a career change that would increase his earnings and give him more control over his schedule. Through Goodwill, David enrolled in a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) course and quickly obtained his credentials. David was recently accepted into an apprentice program that will allow him to have his own truck and significantly increase his wage once completed. “Never let anyone control your future. Be led by your own determination to be better than the day before,” shared David.
We place thousands of South Carolinians into meaningful employment and skills training programs each year. And through those services, people like David regain their self-worth and are able to enjoy active roles in their communities. We are a locally owned and operated non-profit that – through your support – can continue to extend “Goodwill to all.” You can support our Goodwill by going to: www.goodwillsc.org/give-online/, donating gently used goods at a donation center, shopping in any one of our 40 retail stores, or simply by sharing this post with others.
