Custom Brick Installations

Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands SC (GIUMSC) is installing commemorative bricks at two retail store locations - one in the Midlands; one in the Upstate - as part of the organization's year-long 50th anniversary celebration.

Every year, GIUMSC helps thousands of individuals throughout its16-county territory overcome barriers to employment and independence. These commemorative bricks will sit as a permanent testament of the trust and belief in Goodwill and the generational success created through its services and outreach.

The engraving is up to you! Celebrate a Goodwill employee, yourself, community, or special achievement. Recognize your business. Memorialize a friend or loved one. Honor a child or parent. These collective messages represent a community coming together to pave the way for future acts of "goodwill."

The Midlands bricks will be installed at the Goodwill retail store and Job Connection on Highland Center Drive in northeast Columbia. The Upstate installation will be at the organization's administrative offices and Clearance Center on Haywood Road in Greenville.

The proceeds from these bricks will be invested right back into Goodwill's mission services. Just ONE 4"x8" brick can fund six hours of on-site job support and coaching for individuals with barriers to ensure long-term success on the job.

Time Capsule

Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands SC (GIUMSC) is asking residents and community partners in the Upstate and Midlands to submit items for a time capsule that'll remain untouched for 50 years and be opened on the organization's 100th anniversary.

The hope is this collection of items will represent the resiliency, passion, and selflessness of those who call South Carolina home. You can mail or drop off your submission to:

Please consider the size of items submitted, as GIUMSC wants to include as many pieces as possible within the capsule. Potential items include:

• Photos
• Books
• Handwritten letter
• Small keepsakes
• Newspaper clipping
• Tool from your job/industry
