Chunsta Miller Appointed Vice President of Communication and Public Engagement at Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina

Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina (GIUMSC) proudly announces Chunsta Miller as its new Vice President of Communication and Public Engagement. With an extensive background in leadership, community service, and diversity advocacy, Miller brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her new role.

Prior to joining GIUMSC, Miller served as the Director of Training and Development for Washington Prime Group, where she demonstrated exceptional leadership in fostering growth and professional development. Notably, she made history as the First African American and First Female General Manager of Anderson Mall/Mall of Georgia Crossing, breaking barriers and setting new standards of excellence in her field.

Miller’s commitment to community involvement is exemplary. She currently serves on numerous boards and committees, including the Spartanburg Housing Board of Commissioners, United Way African American Leaders Society, Women United of Spartanburg, Salvation Army Executive Board, Converse University Alumni Board, and many more. Her contributions extend to various spheres, including education, healthcare, and women’s empowerment.

In her new role, Miller will provide strategic leadership and guidance for GIUMSC’s marketing, public relations, media relations, and fund development efforts. She will also lead the efforts in shaping the organization’s internal and external messaging while fostering relationships, and ensuring effective communications across Goodwill’s vast network throughout the Upstate and Midlands of South Carolina.

“Through my retail, customer service, and training background coupled with community experience, I have developed a deep understanding of the importance of promoting Goodwill and fostering inclusivity in all aspects of our work. It’s about fostering compassion, understanding, and support for everyone, regardless of background or circumstance. My background as a Director of Training and Development equips me to contribute to the mission of GIUMSC, helping to utilize my skills in leadership, communication, and organizational development that can contribute to advancing our mission. Additionally, my commitment to improving people’s lives through the power of work closely aligns with the values upheld by GIUMSC, ensuring that I will be dedicated to advancing the mission with integrity and passion. I am eager to leverage my experience and skills to help us continue to make a positive impact and promote Goodwill to All,” said Miller.

Miller’s educational background is equally impressive, having graduated from The Riley Institute at Furman University, Leadership South Carolina, Leadership Anderson, and Leadership Greenwood. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Converse College.
