Goodwill to Host Community Resource Fair; Connecting Upstate Residents to Local Support Services
December 7, 2022
(Greenville, SC) On Friday, December 9, 2022, Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina (GIUMSC) will host community resource agencies at Triune Mercy Center (222 Rutherford Road, Greenville) for their Community Resource Fair from 10am – 1pm. The fair will connect the Greenville community to businesses who provide important services in the Upstate area.
The Community Resource Fair is sponsored by GIUMSC’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) committee and will feature a variety of partner agencies highlighting their services and products for attendees to explore. The hope is the event will not only increase awareness for these local businesses and their services, but showcase the significant contributions they make toward creating a thriving community.
“Over the past several years, our Goodwill has placed special emphasis on facilitating and supporting meaningful projects that ensure equity among our associates, participants, and vendors. This work expands beyond our Goodwill to support others in the Goodwill network, other nonprofits and private businesses. We are excited by the impact we’ve had thus far, and the Community Resource Fair is the next step in providing enriching, inclusive opportunities to the community,” said Rachel Putman, Vice President of Mission and People for GIUMSC.
Partner agencies will include NAMI, SC Thrive, Upstate Warrior Solution, Julie Valentine Center, Goodwill’s Mission Mobile unit, and more. Walgreens will also be on-site to for a flu-shot clinic for those in attendance.
