July 3, 2024

Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina (GIUMSC) and the Urban League of the Upstate (ULU) are pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a new Film Academy in the Upstate. This partnership will officially launch with the MOU signing on July 9, 2024, at 10am at 212 Pelham Davis Drive in Greenville.

The Film Academy offers a comprehensive four-week intensive course designed to introduce learners to essential skills and technology needed to work in the film and television industry. Participants will gain the knowledge and expertise required to break into and thrive in this dynamic field.

The new program joins Goodwill’s innovative ELEVATE Drone Pilot Training Program and the Tech Academy, further expanding Goodwill’s commitment to providing crucial education and career services in South Carolina.

“We are thrilled to partner with the Urban League of the Upstate to launch this Film Academy,” said Pat Michaels, Goodwill President and CEO. “This initiative represents a significant step forward in providing creative career opportunities for our community members.
